Colleen M. (Coakley) Yergens, 61 of Ft. Myers, FL passed away unexpectedly and tragically on September 21, 2024. She was born in Massachusetts in 1963 to Jerry & Peggy (Moran) Coakley, raised in Sandown, NH, relocating to Ft. Myers in 1985 when she met the love of her life, Greg Yergens.
Together, Colleen & Greg started a love story that continued until Greg’s passing on July 1, 2022. They raised 3 beautiful children; Allison, Tanner & Tyler, who were their whole world, pride & joy and whom she loved with her heart and soul. Colleen enjoyed many family vacations & cruises over the years. She spent much of her time between dance studios, soccer & baseball games, and numerous trips for travel teams throughout their school years.
She was grateful that she had a special friendship with each one of her children and couldn’t be any more proud of where they all were in their lives and careers. She had the honor of flying to many places with her daughter, enjoying the “Mom” airline perks. She also had the honor of helping both sons buy their first homes.
Colleen was recognized as one of the top Real Estate Agents in the SW Florida market, licensed since 1993. She enjoyed over 31 years of sharing her passion of helping her clients find their dream homes, and sharing her love of SW Florida with all.
She had a smile that lit up the room, a personality to match, and a laugh that was so contagious. She always had us laughing with her quick wit. Colleen had a heart of gold, filled with so much love that she generously shared with everyone. She loved surprising each of us with little gifts of something she found special, and it arrived when you least expected it. She had a large circle of lifelong friends whom she enjoyed spending time with; from lunches, shopping & girls’ weekends, to dancing, cruising or just getting together.
She was known to be a minute (or several minutes) late for everything, but her friends & family always knew she’d be there; Breezing in like a whirlwind announcing “I’m here! You can start the party!” with her big smile & her ever-faithful can of ice-cold Coke a Cola.
She was proceeded in life by her mother, father and husband of whom she is now reunited. While our hearts mourn her sudden loss, we take comfort in knowing she’s in heaven continuing their beautiful love story of 37 plus years for all eternity.
Colleen is survived by her loving children Allison Yergens, Tanner (Madison) Yergens and Tyler (Madison Brod) Yergens all of Ft. Myers, FL. Sisters Dee (Randy) Coakley-Lariviere, Danville, NH, Alicia Coakley (Donny Ciarelli) and Shawn (Martha) Coakley, all of Ft. Myers, FL. Father-in-Law William P. Yergens Beaufort, SC.
