It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of David Michael Patchen of
Pompano Beach, Florida on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the age of 81. He was born on
November 19, 1943 in Port Chester, New York. He grew up in Mamaroneck with his three
siblings in their family home. He graduated from Mamaroneck High School with the class of
1961.
Dedicated to maintenance and groundskeeping, he worked for the Brewster Central School
District for 35 years while residing in Poughkeepsie. An avid bass fisherman, he proudly
maintained his Bassmaster membership successfully bringing home the first place trophy for
several Black Rock Bass Busters tournaments.
Upon retirement, David moved to Florida and took up golfing, mastering the course in his
backyard. He loved playing cards, computer games, and casino games. Charismatic and
playful, he made friends easily, brought joy to children, and was always ready to lend a helping
hand.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catarina Florence Marino Patchen, brother, Joseph
Patchen Jr., daughters, Lori Patchen and Cynthia Patchen D’Ottavio, and father, Joseph Steven
Patchen. He is survived by his brother, Jeffrey Patchen, sister, Debra Patchen Johnston, son,
David Patchen Jr., daughter, Kimberly Patchen, grandchildren, Alexandra Gilroy Mandigo,
Danielle D’Ottavio Brumley, Cynthia Gilroy, Katy Pelliccotti, Braydon Brownie, and Samuel

Wesley Rockefeller, nephews, Jeffrey Patchen Jr., Stephen Patchen and Joey Johnston, nieces,
Jennifer Patchen and Keely Albero, close friends including Sal Pennini, John Agro, and Edward

The family would like to thank David’s team of doctors for their care and treatment of his lung
cancer as well as the neighbors of Leisureville for the compassion they’ve shown for him in his
final days. The outpouring of sympathies and aid is evident of his place in the hearts of others.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of the Life of David Michael Patchen with
tentative reservations at Leisureville Clubhouse on Saturday, March 22nd at 11:00 am. RSVP
your name and number of guests to kimberly@createsincerely.com if you’d like to attend.
