On February 10, 2021 God granted our beloved Donna Demise Cunningham everlasting life. He welcomed her into His kingdom where she now sits at his right side (2 Corinthian 5:8 - to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord). She was greeted by her beloved mother, Amelia Cunningham, who preceded her in death on July 1, 2020.
Donna leaves her son Shaheed Jamal Cunningham, sisters Michelle Keene Flippen and Chauntina Keene Thomas. Donna also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins, a stepfather, Claude Watson, and friends who love her dearly. She also leaves her beautiful essence and all the wonderful memories that made us love her and want to be part of her life. She could never be forgotten because our love for her will keep her alive in this realm while her love for us shines through the spirit realm strengthen our memories of her.
Our beloved Donna was born in the Bronx and was educated in the Bronx, and in Queens. She worked for several Corporations throughout her life but her greatest accomplishment in life is her son Shaheed. She gave birth to him when she was 17 years old and dedicated her life to giving him the best life she could. Her hard work and dedication paid off with interest. Donna’s son grew up to be the kind, intelligent, loving, strong man she raised him to be.
Over the years she expressed how proud of him she was, so she leaves all of us with her great legacy in Shaheed.
We will miss our mother, sister, stepdaughter, niece, cousin, and friend and for a while her passing will hurt but know that she loved us all and still does. She is not gone! She’s just in another realm at peace watching over each of us with mama Amelia and the Almighty God (John 3:16, for whoever believe in the Lord shall not perish but have everlasting life).
