Elgetha Almena Campbell, born Elgetha Almena McKenzie, to Adella Martin-McKenzie and Elkana McKenzie on January 6, 1933 in Chamber’s Pen, Hanover, Jamaica. She met her husband, Oswald Campbell in Anchovy, St. James, Jamaica in 1956. Elgetha and Oswald got married in December 1967. They were married for 53 wonderful and their union produced five delightful children: Leroy, Michael, Donna, Mark and Horace. Elgetha and her family migrated to the United States in 1989, they initially resided in Lauderdale Lakes, FL. She was a faithful member of Lauderhill SDA Church where she was a deaconess and member of the choir.
Elgetha loved to laugh, she loved to read and discuss the Bible and enjoyed gardening. She always mentioned that some of her most cherished moments in her later years was the opportunity to babysit her grandchildren: Ryan, Demar, Dannelle, Tiffany and Zachary. She was a great cook and a wonderful homemaker. She loved her family dearly and loved helping and encouraging others, but most importantly, she loved the Lord. She made a great impact on the lives of everyone she touched and left a legacy of love.
