Elius Edmond Obituary

Life is a journey in the middle of the night. It is a torch always ready to be extinguished. The world is a spectacle, life a passage; Mr. Elius came, saw, and went away on Monday March 15, 2021 at 8:30 PM at North Broward Hospital in Deerfield Beach at the age of 84. Mr. Elius Edmond was born on May 5th, 1936, to the union of Ilary Edmond and Ossilie Innocent in Cap- Haitian Haiti. He moved to the Bahamas in the 1960’s then migrated to New York. He wanted to settle with his family in a warm place closer to his motherland; after visiting several States, Florida seems close and he found his niche there. Elius’ life would forever change when he met the love of his life Mrs. Philomene Leotide Leo. They were happy and content; to this powerful and mesmerizing union four beautiful and amazing children were born.

Mr. Elius is preceded in death by his dearest ones: his mother and father, his brothers, and his daughter Immacula Edmond Alcime in less than a year. He was a devoted and proud father; a revered and lovely husband; a cherished grandfather, an amazing cousin, an avid brother in law and friend who you could always count on. He was a spiritual man who attended church regularly, accompanied by his wife. He enjoyed everyone’s company; he often played dominoes and cards at home, entertaining many of his friends. He was a high spirited person and was happy living his lifestyle. For those who knew him during his retired life, we are proud to mention what a hard worker he was. He helped so many people in the family. His dreams were to have his close relatives here by his side to have a better life or start their own journey of the American dream.

If one could remember him, we can talk about his tenacity, his love to talk in difficult cases; he would not miss any occasion to hold a discourse. He was a person of value, good judgment, courage and integrity. We remembered many joyful moments and memories. As we look back over time, the question was asked: Did we remember to thank you enough for all you have done years over years or we spent time judging what you were unable to do or attain. He never looked for praise, but sometimes he couldn’t leave; his worries went unspoken. A fact of life we all die. But the positive impact you have on others will be a living legacy.

He leaves behind to mourn him his wife Mrs. Elius Edmond née Philomene Edmond. Mr. Elius Edmond is also survived by his children: Mrs. Margaret Souffrant, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Edmond, Mrs. Joanne Edmond, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Edmond.
