Haethe "Heidy" Macias

Haethe “Heidy” Macias, 51, died on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020 at 5:21pm at The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. She was born on January 4th, 1969 in Barranquilla, Colombia, to Carlos Mendoza and Maria Llinas.

She is survived by her mother Maria, her four sisters Katherine Hernandez of Queens, Amar (Alvaro) Castillo, Alexandra Mendoza and Karla Mendoza all of Barranquilla; her two sons, Eugenio (Kathleen) Macias Jr. of Queens and Adrian Macias of Miami; her daughter Aimee (Jeffrey) Chavarria of Miami; her grandchildren Ares, Leeander, Jaylen and Arya; her two nieces Isabella and Luciana; her four nephews Alvaro, Samuel, Pedro and Mikey. She had many cousins and extended family. Her father Carlos Mendoza preceded her in death.

Heidy lived most of her life in South Florida. Recently, she made a home in Columbus, OH. She had a gift of impacting the lives of those around her. Many called her mom, not just her own biological kids. She was a friend to many. She led a joyful life filled with lots of love and laughter. She was a woman of God and cared very deeply for her church community.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 24th, 2020 from 11:00am-2:00pm at the Broward Funeral Choices Funeral Home located at 3776 W Oakland Park Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311. A graveside service will be held at the Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery following visitation services. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, only immediate family is permitted at the graveside.
