Henry Foster, Sr. Obituary

Henry J. Foster was born in Santee South Carolina on December 16th, 1954. The 2nd child of Peter and Annie Bell Foster, Henry was a God Fearing, kind- hearted, charitable, FUNNY, convicted, strong willed, hard working, reliable Father, Brother, Son, Cousin, and Friend!

Henry and his family moved to Pompano in 1967. At the time, many family members had already made the trek before them to begin building and bettering their lives. His favorite Uncle, Uncle Son, loaded everyone up and brought them down to help them on their way.. Not too long after they arrived in South FL, Peter Sr. passed away. After his Father passed, Henry and his brother Willie (Bully) assumed the role to help take care of their Mother Annie Bell and sister Annie Ruth, which he did proudly until her death.

Once Henry and his family moved to Pompano Beach, it did not take him long to get to work. He tried out a myriad of career paths. A couple of his more popular ones was he worked at the neighborhood eatery known as "Wilbos" then later known as Chicken Shack. Then there was the most known and coveted career of working for the City of Deerfield Sanitation Department starting as a sanitation worker then retiring his career in a Management Posi-tion of the same department (a position his son George currently occupies). Henry truly loved his job, his peers, co-workers and employees. His work ethic was as solid as he was, if not more. In earlier years working for the City, he picked up many private events and formed relationships with different com-munities all over the city. His kind and trustworthy nature assisted in him forg-ing the most unlikely of friendships. He was a lover of people and cherished all those friendships he forged over the years.

Henry was a devout Christian and a parishioner of the Cathedral Church of Christ in Deerfield Beach FL where he was a member for 30 plus years. He also loved his church family dearly and appreciated all the many visits by his fellow members to come and worship or just spend time with him. Those sessions kept his spirits lifted!

Henry was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, Peter and Annie Bell Foster, his brother Willie Foster, and his eldest son Shawn Zayvier Foster. Left to carry on his legacy is his last living Aunt, Mary Brown and Uncle, James "Uncle Son" Johnson, his sister Annie Ruth Foster-Rex and his 10 living children and a host of grandchildren: Henry "Jason" Foster Jr., Serenity Foster (Naiya/Lyriq/Avi Marie), Daunea Foster (Deaja/Victoria), George Sulli-van, Kearney Robinson-Michele (Kearney Jr./Jada/Malcolm/Trenton), Khalilah Sullivan-Tony (Tony Jr./Khalani), Michael Reynolds-Jessica (Kayla/Joshua/Michael Jr./Jordan/Sariah/Makiya), Charnika Foster, Henry "Lil Henry" Foster-Alicia, Linda Foster (Destiny/Deja/Kennedy/Trinity/Angel). Additionally to grieve, are the Mothers of his children with whom he had lasting and loving friendships, Constance Coley and Linda Foster.
