August 27, 1941 – December 26, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ivan Jose Maloney, who left us on December 26, 2025, at the age of 84. Ivan was born on August 27, 1941, in Santa Flora, Trinidad, to Imelda Tenia Maloney and Bernard Maloney.
A mischievous, witty, and cheeky child, Ivan had an infectious spirit that kept his family on their toes. His love for challenges and his deep curiosity about the world around him were evident from a young age. As a young man, Ivan dreamed of making a better life for himself and ventured to the United States in 1970, where he soon found success. Ivan’s determination and hard work led him to a prestigious position at Goldman Sachs in New York, a career he held with pride and distinction.
Ivan was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, known for his boundless energy, humor, and warmth. He was predeceased by his cherished wife, Casorine ‘Cassie’ Maloney, as well as his brothers Fred, Urban, Benedict, Raphael ‘Ralph’ Maloney, Kerry Maloney, and sister Helen “Eulyn” Taylor. Despite these profound losses, Ivan remained deeply connected to his roots and family, always keeping them close in his heart.
He is survived by his brother, Peter ‘Ancil’ Maloney, and sisters Petronella ‘Petti’ Maloney and Betty ‘Veronica’ Maloney. Ivan was also a loving uncle to his numerous nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember Uncle Kenneth for his playful nature, kind heart, and the wisdom he imparted.
In 1991, Ivan made the decision to settle in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he enjoyed the peace and warmth of the South. His vibrant presence and sharp sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Ivan's legacy is one of resilience, ambition, and an unwavering love for his family. He touched the lives of many with his unique spirit, and he will be remembered with love and affection by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial repast will be held in his honor at his home at 3508 NW 38th Ave, Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33309. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Zelle: pettimm@comcast.net NOTE: in Ivan's name.
