Joshua Christopher Jones, lovingly known as “Josh,” passed away on February 8, 2026, at the age of 19 while stationed at the Naval Station in Great Lakes, Illinois. Joshua was born on July 25, 2006, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Joshua was the beloved son of Kimonia Simpson and Sanjay Jones and the loving husband of Joanne Jones. He was a devoted brother to Christina Jones, Aneesa Jones, and Destin Jones. Joshua was especially a great big brother and fierce protector of his sister, Christina Jones, always watching over her with love and pride. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Norma Neverson, Oswald Jones, and Pam Jones, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.
Joshua attended Winston Park Elementary School, Abundant Life Private School, Lyons Creek Middle School, and Monarch High School. He later relocated to Ocala, Florida, where he graduated from Belleview High School. After graduation, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, fulfilling his dream of serving his country and making his mother proud. He recently completed ATT School and was preparing to continue his training.
Josh was known for his humor, sarcasm, and vibrant personality. He loved fast sports cars, music, jewelry, and fashion, and he was always known for his sharp style and confidence.
Joshua will be remembered for the laughter he brought to others and the love he shared with his family and friends. Though his time here was far too short, his memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
