On October 21st, 2020, dad passed peacefully at home in Lauderdale Lakes. Known to his grand- children as “Grand-dad”, his wife “Mendez”, and to his church family, “Brother Mendez”. Born, Lunsford Alexander Mendez, in Sherwood Content Trelawny, he lived a simple yet peaceful life, until the age of 82. Dad loved to love people, he adored going to church and ensuring everyone in his presence felt loved.
During the 70s’ he traveled to the United States and worked as a farm Worker, After being captivated by his loving bride, he gave up traveling and worked for many years at the Jamaica Citrus Growers.
Being a Deacon for many years at Bethel Gospel Hall Church of The First Born in Linstead, Jamaica and also a member of First Alliance International Church in Ft. Lauderdale. His life was a living example of his favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Mr. Mendez was a kind and loving partner to his wife as well as an amazing father to their children. Leaving to mourn, his loving wife of 38 years Rosean Mendez, His eldest son Carl Mendez, and from his union with Rosean three sons Bradzsie, Radcliffe, and Winston. His two daughters Janet and Patricia. His grandsons: Junior “Teake” (who preceded him), Chris, Janard, Giovanni, Alejando, Carson, Nathan, Radcliffe Jr. His granddaughters: Felicia, Angelica, and Zada; and his two great grandchildren: CJ and Kadi.
