Oswald Bryan, age 70, more commonly called Mr. Bryan or “Bruk-up & Sufferer”, was born October 25, 1950, to Jaslyn Bryan (Father) and Nancy McDonald-Bryan (Mother) in the Parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica. Oswald was 1 of 7 children (Tom, Bryon, Madge (Deceased), Pally, Maurice Madge (Deceased), Oswald, Pauline and Lenford).
As a child he was curious and enjoyed having fun with his neighborhood friends where he played-cricket, rode his motorcycle and ate his favorite foods such as Mangoes, Apples, Ackee, Cherries and Callaloo. He also enjoyed fishing and swimming.
As a young man he was Chief Machine Operator at Mazuca Capella Lighting and Metal Industries in St Thomas. It was during these years a young lady name Marlene caught his eyes. They married, June 18, 1977. In total they have 6 children (Donna, Vinette, Everton, Andrae, Dewayne and Anthony (Deceased). In the 1980’s the family migrated to Brooklyn, NY, in search of a better life. He worked in residential building maintenance. In Brooklyn, he was able to try new foods from around the world, which he loved. He also loved to cook; he was famous for his jerk pork, goat soup and big house parties.
Mr. Bryan is survived by 5 children, 11 Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends
He will be deeply missed.
