Phillip “Roadmap” Asbury was born on April 1, 1959 in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Oscar and Alma Asbury. After graduating from James M. Bennett High School in 1976, Phillip joined the military. He served in both the army and air force as a food service specialist for seven years.
His love of cooking continued after his military service ended. Philip entertained his family and friends on the weekend with barbecue, music, and jokes. He also enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Baltimore Ravens, play.
On July 17, 1986, he married Gladzine Asbury. This union blessed them with a daughter, Lenshia Asbury.
Before Phillip was called home, Heaven welcomed his wife, Gladzine Asbury and his stepson, Ray Wilson.
Phillip’s memories are left to his daughter Lenshia Asbury; grandchildren: Markaila Johnson, Kamari Jenkins, and Toriyah Williams; brothers: Wilfred “Gary” (Carolyn)Thompson, William (Joan) Asbury, Clifford White, Leonard Coleman, and Chonsey (Emily) Asbury; sisters: Ruby Lee Brown, Patricia “Ann” Dobson, and Mariah (Glenn) Hade; uncle: Felton (Lear) Lewis; aunts: Arlena Pugh, Thelma Taylor, and Ola Asbury; special family: John Coney, Ernie Coney, Connie Coney, and Hope Coney, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
