Sophonie Darbouze

Sophonie Eliscar Darbouze made her transition to be with her Heavenly Father on April, 4th 2022 at the age of 77. Sophonie was born on February 6th, 1945 in Berlotte, Port Salut to George Eliscar (deceased) and Elanie St-Clair (deceased). She was the wife of Joseph Precivin Darbouze from December 20, 1969 until the time of her death.

Sophonie and her husband moved their family to Florida without knowledge of the language and culture. They raised their children through tough love and an unimaginable strength. Sophonie was a kindhearted woman that did not mind helping any and everyone. She impacted the lives of those around her with her selfless attitude, and her heart of gold.

To know Sophonie was to know someone who never had a closed hand. Her heart was toward helping family, no matter how far they were. She was a God-given blessing to those less fortunate; especially back home in Haiti. She clothed, fed, and gave her entire being to family, friends, and all of those surrounding her.

The mother of Alex, Bernard, Mirielle, and Pierre Darbouze and her adopted daughters Ivrose and Irlande. Sophonie’s greatest love was her family. And all her children were proud to call her mom.  Sister of Saintana, Sallen (deceased), Therese, and Antonine. Daughter-in-law of Michel Darbouze and Ficia Cazeaux. Mother-in-Law to Gina and Djily.

Grandmother to Dominique, Tyrelle, Andrew, Zeleshia, Alayja, Alexandra, Nia,Preston, Serenity, Carlee, Kylee, Khloee. Adopted grandchildren Reuben, Joshua, Iyanna, Bryanna, Brianna, Bruce, Brinnae, Zion. Aunt to Job, Belane, Carline, Darline, David, Georges (deceased) Mathieu. Friends of the Dauphin, Casimir, Jean-Noncent, Sterlin, Bertrand, Jourdan Fondrose, Mathieu, Moise & Edouard Family, and so many others.

Sophonie leaves a host of family members and friends whom she loved. All who knew Sophonie, and have had the privilege to experience her loving-kindness, will miss her greatly. She will be laid to rest at Vista Memorial Gardens.
