Stephania Obas Obituary

When our beloved mom joined our dad in Eternal life on June 8th, 2021, after one year apart, another critical limb has fallen from the family tree and Heaven is rejoicing for gaining another angel.

I keep hearing a voice that says, grieve not for me, instead, remember the good times, the family gatherings, the laughter, the songs, the jokes, the memories, and the life I lived while I was strong. Continue to build my legacy, keep me alive with the memories; pass them down to the next generations. I am counting on you.   I know you all will miss me dearly.  My Lord has called me Home. Just know, my work here is done, my Mind is at ease, my Body is at rest and my Soul is at peace.

Our beloved Mother, Grand Mother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin-Stephania Veronique Obas Born Noel, was born on February 13th, 1930, in the city of Bord De Mer De Limonade.  She was the oldest of the 4 girls born to the late Ms. Ernestine Michaud and Mr. Estillien Noel.  She was affectionately known to most of us as Madan Bordeaux and to me her daughter as Ti Madam.   That was my affectionate name for her.  She was an amazing woman who lived a courageous life.   To us her children, not only was she, a woman of amazing strength, but also a woman of faith.  She lived an exemplary life.  She was a very private but joyful woman, always looking to bring joy and laughter to us all.  She was a disciplinarian, one who chose to discipline with love and understanding.  Her finest quality was Love.  She has the inherent ability to love, to listen, to absorb, and measure wisdom.  Her love for her children, her siblings, her family, and her friends was felt throughout her amazing life.  Our mother lived a fruitful life.  God blesses her with a long and happy life.  She only succumbed to ill health right at the very end.  She breathed her last peacefully from this life and born to eternity on Tuesday June 8th, 2021, at 4:30 PM, at Holy Cross hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Our Beloved mother was very involved in her church in her younger years.  She lived for the Lord and shared her faith with everyone she met.  She was an amazing cook and a fantastic homemaker.  She enjoys spending time in the kitchen mixing up old ingredients to create a new taste to a familiar dish.  she was well known for her charitable work in her immediate community as well as Haiti-The Mother land. She was a mother to all that had the pleasure to have known her, walked life with her, and fellowshipped with her.  Her love for her children, her family and people were infectious.  She was someone that will easily give the shirt of her back without hesitation.  She loved without looking for anything in return.  Her Faith in the Lord was her compass.  She passed it on to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She lived knowing that the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.  She was an active, venturesome, and the humblest Mother and friend.   She was a hardworking woman, a devoted mother, a devoted wife, and a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. Her strong faith guided her throughout her life to love and help many.

Our beloved Mother is survived by her children:  Mr. Musset Obas, Mr. Jacques James Obas, Ms. Philomene Jacotte Obas-Marseille; Her stepchildren: Arnold Pierre, Adeline Obas, and Perry Jean.

She will be missed by Her Siblings: Ms. Antonine Stephine Noel and Ms. Ursule Noel; her Grandchildren: Stephanie Obas, Emmanuella Obas, Jessica Obas, Joseph Obas, Jacques Obas Junior, Terence Obas, Guennadi P Marseille, Yevguenni R Marseille, and Sephora Obas; Her Great-Grandchildren: Amanda, Chelsie, Mya, Richard, Kayden, Ladamion, Ra'miyah, Reshond, and Ja'myla: Nieces and Nephews: Isaac Michaud, Marie Philomene Dazile,  Elie Dazile, Francilia Nemorin, Jackson Louis, Henri Claude Louis, Chantale Menard, Wisny Noel, Jacques Noel, Magdaline Noel Jacquecin Richard, Phanise Richard, and Seraphin Richard: Her Cousins and family; Cherenfant, Leo, Innocent, Tony, Michaud, Noel, and family.  She will also be missed by her Friends, and her church family.

She is preceded in death by her Mother Ernestine Michaud, her husband of 70 years, Louis-Cima Obas, her son Harry Obas, her brother Connie Michaud, and her sister Marie Claudette Richard, born Noel.
