Suk Ying Liu, 85, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 16, 2021. Born in the district of Taishan in the providence of Guangdong, she was the 3rd daughter of four children. She moved to Nassau, Bahamas to start a family with Wai Ming Liu and ran several businesses from the early 60’s to 1979, until the death of her husband. She played the role of mother and father in a time when that wasn’t common.
Despite these struggles, she always provided a loving and warm home for her children. Suk Ying’s greatest love was her family. And all her children were proud to call her mom. With the passing of her husband, she moved her family to Florida. Without knowing the language and culture, she single-handedly raised her 6 children through tough love and an unimaginable strength.
Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing that Wai Ming and Suk Ying are together again. They are survived by their children Byron Liu, Ted Liu, Michelle Liu, Barry Liu, Sherrie Larew, Willie Liu, Schevell Liu and eight grandchildren Michael Liu, Elizabeth Larew, Alex Larew, Sabrina Larew, Charlotte Lillico, Matthew Lillico, Lucas Lillico and Jacob Lillico.
